Welcome to our school community!
Barooga Public School offers a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment focused on high expectations and student growth. Located on land significant to the Yorta Yorta, Bpangerang, and Jeithi peoples, the school serves Barooga and nearby areas. It features a strong 15-week Kindergarten Transition Program with free transport and support. Our school values respect, responsibility, and safety through its Positive Behaviour for Learning framework. Academic excellence is shown by above-average NAPLAN growth and programs like Aurora College and various competitions. Students also enjoy activities like gardening and sports. The school community, including staff and parents, work together to help every child succeed.

Barooga Public School follows the Victorian school vacation dates so that families with children attending a High school in Cobram/Nathalia, can enjoy the same holiday periods. 2026 Term Dates
Please note that during the school term, NSW public holidays are observed, rather than Victorian public holidays.
Throughout the year, NSW Education also schedules compulsory Staff Development (School Development) Days. These are pupil-free days and students do not attend school on these dates. Families will be advised of these dates as they are confirmed.
